ALEX SUGAR x SHOALHAVEN WATER - KANGAROO VALLEY, NSW.

We worked in conjunction with Melbourne based muralist, Alex Sugar and the local KV community to create a new mural on the water silo located at the Hampden Bridge.
The project saw a series of local workshops with the community to ideate subject matter that was relevant to the local area. The conversation quickly geared toward the endagered species of the brush tailed rock wallaby. The local community group supplied an range of images as reference material and we consulted with local green-legends ‘Good Bush’ to identify some local flora endemic to the region.

MORE THINGS LIKE THIS! x SHELLHARBOUR CITY COUNCIL - FEATURING: LING, HELEN PROCTOR, ALEX SUGAR & MICHAEL BLACK.

This was the second installment of Shellharbour’s mirco festival - More Things Like This! Installed across 4 of the LGA’s suburbs, MTLT is designed to be a high quality event with the added benefit of local skill and capacity building for local artists. 4 local artists were selected to accompany the artists in a paid mentorship that saw the group gain valuable skills and understanding in creating public artwork - some of which were taking part in the practice for the first time. The project also culminated in 2 of the mentored artists securing their own sites to paint as part of the back end of the festival.
