Wonderwalls® partnered with Shoalhaven City Council to bring internationally renowned street artist Smug back to his hometown of Nowra for a poignant and deeply personal public art commission.

Project Role: Curation, Project Management, Delivery, Content.

• Curation: We facilitated the concept of Smug creating a large-scale portrait of a significant figure in his artistic development, culminating in the selection of his early mentor.

• Project Management: We meticulously managed all aspects of the project, including securing necessary approvals, coordinating with the City Council and local community, and ensuring the project adhered to strict timelines and budgets.

• Delivery: We provided comprehensive on-site support to Smug throughout the creation and installation process, ensuring the project was executed to the highest standards and to the satisfaction of both the artist and the community.

• Content: We developed a compelling narrative around the project, capturing the emotional resonance of Smug's homecoming and the significance of his chosen subject. This included artist interviews, behind-the-scenes documentation, and engaging social media content to share the story with a wider audience.
